Departments using the digital Employee Transfer Service

The Employee Transfer Service helps you move between government departments without resigning. It collects and shares the information needed for a move between departments. 

Your transfer will follow the digital route if the department you’re leaving, and the one you’re joining both use the service.

Your provisional offer email will tell you if your transfer will use the digital service.

If your transfer does follow the digital route, there’s separate guidance for you to follow within the Employee Transfer Service.

All other transfers will continue to use the Excel-based staff transfer form here on GOV.UK.

If you complete the wrong form, this will delay your transfer.
