The GGMS is a cost-effective, technology-enabled managed service, designed to support departments, arm’s length bodies, and local authorities in the efficient management of grant funding.
The GGMS administers general grant schemes throughout the end-to-end lifecycle. It handles the setup, operational management and delivery of grant awards and related in-scope processes.
This innovative service has been proven to deliver significant efficiencies and excellent value for money. During a two-year pilot across a diverse range of grant schemes, the GGMS delivered impressive 40% efficiency savings, establishing itself as a credible delivery option for departments, arms-length bodies, and local authorities.
A mandate is in place, on a comply or explain basis, requiring UK government departments and their arm’s length bodies (ALBs) to use the GGMS for the management of their eligible general grant schemes. Local authorities and devolved administrations are also welcome to use GGMS, although they do not come under the mandate.
To submit eligible government grant schemes for administration, departments, ALBs, local authorities and devolved administrations should complete the GGMS referral form. The GGMS team will review the provided information and contact you regarding the next steps.
