Details

The Government Equalities Office (GEO) review of the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s (EHRC) provision of Equality information, advice and support was carried out between August and October 2010, and informed the Spending Review.  As a consequence of the review, the government has decided to stop funding the EHRC’s provision of its helpline and grants programme from 31 March 2012.

The absence of capability previously referred to [in the report] is not because of staff shortcomings in the strategic grants team, but because of a lack of underlying corporate and organisational culture, processes and systems in the Commission which is necessary for a large-scale grants programme.
