Government Car Service
The Government Car Service (GCS) provides a high-quality, secure car service for ministers in government departments.
Ministers and others senior officials can travel safely in their departmental pool cars, allowing them to concentrate on their work and make efficient use of their working day.
Government car fleet
Following a substantial re-structure, GCS operates a fleet of around 90 cars including a small number of reserve vehicles.
The fleet includes British manufactured vehicles as well as other low emission vehicles. The size of the fleet is well below historic levels and has been made possible through efficiencies and modernised working practices.
Government car workshop
GCS is supported by an in house secure workshop. The workshop is recognised by leading motor manufacturers as having the ability to keep its fleet in the best possible operating condition.
