Lallemand UK Limited (representing Danstar Ferment A.G.) has applied to Defra for consent to market genetically modified yeast for brewing sour beer.

We are required to assess the application, drawing on scientific advice from the Advisory Committee on Releases to the Environment (ACRE). When completed, we will publish this assessment and invite representation on any risks of damage being caused to the environment by the release applied for in this application.
