Galliford Try Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from underground strata comprising of alluvium at Burton Joyce between National Grid References SK 65455 44286, SK 65473 44262, SK 65520 44296 and SK 65496 44321 to transfer it to a drainage ditch at National Grid Reference SK 65537 44195 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
Dewatering of the area is required for construction of a new high lift pump station.
