Galliford Try Construction Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the area defined by National Grid References SU 38417 21958, SU 38480 21963, SU 38477 21930 and SU 38425 21932 at the South Shaft of Southampton Link Main and to transfer it to the River Medway at National Grid Reference SU 38487 21908 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

Abstraction is expected to take place until the end of March 2028.
Dewatering is required to ensure a safe working environment for the construction of an installation project near Romsey, Hampshire.
