This Foresight project is looking at the range of current and future uses of the subsurface, including:
- infrastructure
- sustainable water management
- geothermal energy
- use of finite space
- climate adaptation
The project is adopting a systems approach to analyse and map present and future cross-sectoral demands on the subsurface. It aims to inform future-resilient UK policies for planning, coordination, and regulation.
