Details

Using aspirational scenarios involves understanding what might happen and identifying a path to a preferred future. This research by Birmingham University explores how cities can use these scenarios to help create policies and strategies to achieve their own city visions.

The project is divided into 3 parts:

  • a review of aspirational scenarios approaches
  • grouping aspirational scenarios into 3 models (environment and resources, people and community, and work and economy)
  • workshops exploring aspirational visions for Birmingham and Bristol

This work was commissioned as part of the Foresight future of cities project.
