This report gives an overview of UK manufacturing performance in terms of innovation output, capital investment and expenditure on research and development. It analyses the links between financial market structures, governance systems and investment behaviour in the UK, and assess the extent to which business decision taking in the UK is affected by ‘short-termism’.
This review was commissioned as part of the Foresight project on the future of manufacturing in the UK.
