Further action on adoption: finding more loving homes

This document sets out proposals for the next steps in tackling delay so that more children can benefit more quickly from being adopted into a loving home. It describes a number of changes to give approved adopters a more active role in the process of finding a child, and a package of improvements to the support available to adoptive families.

Adoption offers vulnerable children much needed stability and security and the support they need to achieve their potential. There is still one outstanding challenge for the adoption system - finding enough adoptive parents.

This document follows on from ‘An Action Plan for Adoption: Tackling Delay’ and sets out our proposals for the next steps in tackling delay so that more children can benefit more quickly from being adopted into a loving home.
