Flexible AI Upskilling Fund: privacy notice for training providers that registered interest (closed)

This notice sets out how we will process your personal data, and your rights, if  you registered interest in being updated on the Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot. It is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

This notice relates to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot scheme, which aims to promote artificial intelligence (AI) upskilling in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This Privacy Notice covers the collection and processing for training providers to register their interest in being updated on the Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot. We will use your data to keep you updated on the launch of the scheme, including providing more information on the eligibility of training, application process and notifying you when the competition window opens. Information collected will also be processed in order to effectively promote, deliver and monitor the Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot.

We may process the following personal data:

  • name
  • email
  • telephone number
  • address

Your personal data were obtained for us from Microsoft Office through Microsoft Forms.

Purpose

The purpose(s) for which we are processing your personal data is:

  • To keep you updated on the launch of the Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot scheme
  • To effectively promote, deliver and monitor the Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot scheme

The legal basis for processing your personal data under Article 6 of the UK GDPR is:

6 (1) (e)Public task: Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller, in this case to keep you informed of the progress of the Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot scheme.

Recipients

Your personal data may be shared with a third-party evaluator who will be selected to assess expressions of interest as part of the evaluation of the scheme. The GGMS is provided by a third-party delivery partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), with Cabinet Office oversight. Your personal data may also be shared with PwC. It will not be shared with any other third party, unless we are required to do so by law, for example by court order or to prevent fraud or other crime.

As your personal data will be stored on our IT infrastructure it will also be shared with our data processors Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.

Retention

Your personal information will be kept for a period of 1 year following your registration of Expression of Interest to ensure that administrative obligations are met and you can be kept informed of scheme progress.

International Transfers

Your personal data will be processed in the UK.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data
  • request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay
  • request that any incomplete personal data are completed, including by means of a supplementary statement
  • request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed
  • in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested), request that the processing of your personal data is restricted
  • object to the processing of your personal data where it is processed for direct marketing purposes
  • object to the processing of your personal data
