1. Our Purpose

Our goal is to assist with the internal business operations of the organisation and meet all MOD Head Office requirements promptly. We strive to create a positive experience for both our staff and customers by engaging with them, communicating effectively and providing support.

1.1 Services we Deliver:

We provide a range of functions including

  • People strategies regarding workforce and capabilities planning, fostering a positive employee culture through effective engagement, prioritising health, and well-being, and ensuring proper governance of people-related processes.

  • A professionally accredited communication service providing multi-disciplined external and internal provision to audience with media handling capability.

  • We undertake corporate customer activities such as stakeholder management, managing DBS complaints and delivering customer projects such as Customer Service Excellence accreditation and annual customer satisfaction surveying.

  • We offer a range of services fulfil both functional and end-user needs including performance monitoring and reporting, benchmarking, demand management, service cataloguing and establishing service level agreements.

  • Fit for purpose estates service, including health and safety, infrastructure, site facilities and maintenance, and supporting visitors.

  • Establishing clear governance processes for managing the DBS budget, ensuring financial policies and assurances are upheld

  • Overseeing assurance, risk management, and business continuity activities across DBS.

  • Responding to all Ministerial and Parliamentary business and enquiries coming into DBS, responses to Freedom of Information Requests, briefing and submissions to Ministers.

  • Assist DBS’s executive boards, create materials for external governance Boards and manage our Honours and Awards processes.

1.2 Our current challenges:

As the enabling function within DBS we work to support every part of DBS to help them deliver current and future services to our customers. We are an organisation that is transforming and modernising we are involved in meeting the various challenges we face.

Supporting DBS people through our changes – helping them transition, embedding a positive culture and making learning and development opportunities available.

Working on change delivery – providing expert finance, communications and infrastructure input to enable successful delivery.
