The Marshall Aid Commemoration Act 1953 was passed by the British Parliament in order to express enduring gratitude to the American people for the Marshall Plan. This Act established a series of scholarships for young Americans to study for a degree at a British University, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and administered in Britain by the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission. This is the 56th annual report of the Commission which details the activities of the scholarship scheme for the year ending September 2009

This Command Paper was laid before Parliament by a Government Minister by Command of Her Majesty. Command Papers are considered by the Government to be of interest to Parliament but are not required to be presented by legislation.
