Details

The FCERM appraisal guidance was originally introduced in 2010. This updated technical guidance was released in 2022.

It explains how to complete an appraisal for an FCERM strategy or project in England, and how you can use this information to create a business case to support an application for FCERM funding in line with government policy. You should use this technical guidance if you are an FCERM practitioner who needs the specific techniques and approaches to carry out an appraisal and write an FCERM business case.

If you want to understand FCERM appraisal at a higher level you should read the appraisal manual. This provides an overview of the main steps involved in carrying out an appraisal.
