Farming Sector Environmental Objectives: objective reporting status
Published 22 October 2026
Applies to England
We have used 3 categories of reporting status for the environmental objectives:
Final – no further significant development of the objective is immediately expected. Future changes to the objective will be reliant of assessing new delivery mechanisms and ambition levels following policy changes.
Interim – further development is needed for the objective to be stable. For example, new data may need to be added to assess full objective achievement or the methods used for deriving contribution are expecting to be further developed. Where reported, interim objectives are in no way inferior to final objectives in terms of data quality and/or reliability.
In development – The objective is not currently available to report; further research is required and/or ongoing to determine ambition levels or the most suitable methods for analysis.
Where there is additional information about the further development of an objective, this will be included in the objective page.
