There are a number of strands to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) strategy to tackle tax evasion and avoidance. An evasion publicity campaign was launched by HMRC in November 2012, which complements HMRC Campaigns and Taskforces that have run over the last few years.
The aims of the campaign are to help reduce tax evasion, reassure the compliant that HMRC is acting against the non-compliant and ultimately to increase voluntary compliance among the non-compliant.
