1. Information: 2017 to 2018 academy funding allocations guidance

We’ve published 2017 to 2018 academy funding allocations guidance for mainstream, special and alternative provision academies and free schools.

We’ll begin issuing academy funding allocations for the 2017 to 2018 academic year towards the end of February.

We’ll upload allocations to the Document Exchange ‘revenue funding’ folder, under ‘AY 2017-18 (2017/18)’. You can access Document Exchange by logging into EFA Information Exchange, and choosing the Document Exchange tab at the top of the page. For support and guidance about EFA Information Exchange, please visit our support page.

We expect to upload all allocations to academies that opened before or on 1 January 2017 by the end of March 2017.

We’ll upload allocations for 2017 to 2018 for February and March 2017 opening academies by mid-April 2017.

2. Information: annual review of end-year 16 to 19 study programmes data

Education Funding Agency (EFA) has published the findings of the annual review of end-year 16 to 19 study programmes data. This covers the period for the 2014 to 2015 academic year. This is the second annual review we have completed. These reviews are to ensure public funding meets the core principles of study programmes.

3. Reminder: academies admissions arrangements

Academies must have determined their admissions arrangements for entry in September 2018 by 28 February 2017. They must publish their admissions arrangements on their website and send a copy to their local authority by 15 March 2017.

Academies must also publish their timetables for organising and hearing admission appeals on their websites by 28 February 2017.

Please follow the statutory requirements in both the School Admissions Code and the School Admission Appeals Code when determining admissions arrangements and organising admission appeals.
