Edward Vinson Plants Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number SO/040/0009/005 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of chalk via a borehole at National Grid Reference TR 35901 52902 at Turnhouse Nurseries, Sholden, Deal, Kent. This licence allows the abstraction of water for spray irrigation, all year.

The variation applied for is: to increase the yearly abstraction of water from 13,200 cubic metres to 17,764 cubic metres.
