Edge AI Security Research privacy notice

This notice sets out how we will process your personal data, and your rights. It is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
Your Data
We will process the following personal data:
- name
- job title
- contact details (including email address and phone number)
Purpose
The purpose for which we are processing your personal data is to enable Perspective Economics to carry out research on behalf of DSIT. This includes:

Arranging an interview.

Following up to clarify your responses if needed.

Anonymised reporting of trends/answers may be created and shared. This will not link back to you or any of your responses.
Legal basis of processing
The legal basis for processing your personal data under Article 6 of the UK GDPR is:
1(a)Consent: You consent to the sharing of your personal data by DSIT with our data processor for the purpose of contacting you to take part in the research. Should you change your mind, you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting dataprotection@dsit.gov.uk
1(e)Public task: Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller. This research provides ministers and government officials with information on Edge AI and the cyber implications in order to inform future policy-development.
Recipients
Your personal data will be shared with Perspective Economics staff working on this project. It will not be shared with DSIT. When summarising findings in the publishable report at the end of the project, we may refer to the types of roles held by interviewees, but we will not list details about any individuals’ job titles.
As part of our IT infrastructure, your personal data will be stored in the UK on internal (Microsoft) systems. This does not mean we actively share your personal data with Microsoft; rather, they are a technical service provider who host infrastructure supporting our IT systems.
Retention
Your personal data will be kept by Perspective Economics for the duration of the project, which is expected to be six months. All personal data will be deleted upon completion of the project.
International Transfers
Your personal data will be processed in the UK.
Your Rights
You have the right to request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data.
You have the right to request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay.
You have the right to request that any incomplete personal data are completed, including by means of a supplementary statement.
You have the right to request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed.
You have the right in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested) to request that the processing of your personal data is restricted.
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data where it is processed for direct marketing purposes.
You have the right to withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data at any time.
