Eastnor Castle Estates Company has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Severn Vale catchment.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 5 litres per second
  • 2 cubic metres an hour
  • 33 cubic metres a day
  • 12,213 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid References (NGRs) SO 75530 38150, SO 74299 35927, SO 74060 39450, SO 74960 39450, SO 73390 36570, SO 76055 39260 and SO 72699 36602
  • from abstraction location Borehole and springwater abstraction from groundwater at Eastnor Castle Estate, Eastnor.

The water will be used for Potable Water Supply – Direct.
