Details
This guide helps authors to produce research reports commissioned by the department. Our reports are read by people with an interest in social security and welfare, including policy-makers and ministers.
Please follow the guidelines. We recognise that individual styles are expressions of the authors and the guide doesn’t seek to restrict this. Research methods vary widely, and there will be cases where alternatives to these guidelines are preferable. If you think that this may apply to your report, please consult your DWP project manager before submitting the first draft.
