Innovation Cluster Map: accessibility statement

Published 1 October 2025

This accessibility statement applies to DSIT Cluster Map website.

This website is run by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

DSIT is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

The Cluster Map website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Interactive maps are exempt from the accessibility requirements of the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, as long as the essential information is provided in an accessible format.

Our interactive map has the following accessibility limitations:

  • some text within the map does not meet minimum colour contrast requirements.

  • the map may be difficult to navigate or view when zoomed in to 400%.

  • it is not possible to resize text within the map without causing some content to overlap.

We do not plan to make changes to the map itself because it falls outside the scope of the accessibility regulations. However, the essential information provided in the map is available in an accessible digital format on the website.
