The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the gauging station on the River Otter near Newton Poppleford in Devon between the footbridge (NGR SY 08708 88510) and gauging weir (NGR SY 08683 88418), a distance of 0.1 kilometres. The proposed improvement works will involve repairs to the eroded east river bank using granite block stones.
The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. An environmental appraisal report has been produced and can be viewed during normal working hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
