Domestic Abuse Commissioner 'Everyday business' report: government response

In October 2025, the Domestic Abuse Commissioner published a report into domestic abuse and private family law proceedings. The government has responded to the recommendations within this report.

The Domestic Abuse Commissioner made several recommendations within their report). The government response addresses the following topics in relation to the Family Court:

  • phase two of the Family Court Review and Reporting Mechanism (FCRRM)
  • administrative data
  • research and analysis
  • the voice of the child

The response outlines work being undertaken by the government in this area and makes commitments to further action.
