CICAIR’s Approved Inspector regime ended on 1 October 2024. The Building Safety Regulator now oversees building control bodies and registered building inspectors.

Details

A disciplinary panel is set up if a complaint against an approved inspector is upheld. This document sets out how the regulatory body conducts disciplinary proceedings.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the designated body to approve inspectors in England and Wales from 5 April 2024, replacing the Construction Industry Council Approved Inspectors Register (CICAIR). This designation ends on 1 October 2024.

All references in the documents to CICAIR should be read as HSE.
