DfE Update further education: 1 April 2026

Published 1 April 2026

Applies to England

1. Information: Further education college condition allocation 2026 to 2027

On Wednesday 1 April 2026, we published the 2026 to 2027 further education (FE) college condition allocation amounts for each FE college.  Funding of £307m will help colleges maintain, improve and ensure the suitability of FE college estates.

Grant funding agreements will be sent to all colleges. These will need to be signed and returned to receive this year’s funding.

The FE college condition allocation is confirmed as an annual allocation over this spending review period:

  • financial year 2026 to 2027 - £307 million
  • financial year 2027 to 2028 - £313 million
  • financial year 2028 to 2029 - £319 million
  • financial year 2029 to 2030 - £325 million

From 2027 to 2028, we plan to look at how information from the condition data collection (CDC2) could be used to add a condition-based weighting to the funding formula.

2. Information: Final qualification achievement rates for 2024 to 2025 released
