     The following changes have been made: - Covers sweepings from construction sites (17 05 04 and 17 09 04) - Covers permitted sites that currently accept 20 03 03 to accept 17 05 04 and 17 09 04 whilst permits are updated - Specifies that it covers storage and bulking of sweepings by the waste producer

     Updated this regulatory position statement so it uses the latest template. This RPS is a candidate to become a waste exemption. The next review will be before 1 July 2026.

  3. 15 June 2020

     We have updated this RPS to make it clear that it only applies to local authorities, Highways England and their contractors. We have also extended the review date until 31 January 2023.

     This RPS has been extended until 31 August 2020.

This regulatory position statement (RPS) does not change your legal requirement to have an environmental permit where one is required.

However, the Environment Agency will not normally take enforcement action if you do not comply with this legal requirement if you meet the requirements in this RPS.

This regulatory position does not apply to any other legal requirements.
