Details

The Secretary of State for Health is seeking to appoint a chair to the Commission on Human Medicines (CHM).

The position

The CHM advises the Licensing Authority (UK Health Ministers) on matters relating to safety, quality and efficacy of medicines and the collection of adverse drug reactions to marketed medicines.

The chair of the CHM will be medically qualified, recognised by peers as a leader in their field and have experience of high-level committee membership.

Time and pay

The Chair will be paid £500 for preparation and attendance for each meeting which will involve a time commitment of approximately 30 days per year including 11 meetings.

Whilst the Secretary of State for Health determines the length of appointment the post will be for a maximum of 4 years.
