The entities within the departmental boundary that make up these financial statements are the core Department for Education (DfE), its associated agencies and the Standards and Testing Agency (STA).

This report includes details of items such as structural reform priorities, implementation of Public Accounts Committee recommendations, sustainability reporting, statement of internal controls and a summary of the main changes and challenges in the year. It also includes the financial statements, which relate to the costs of the core DfE.

The executive agencies have their own accounting officers who are responsible to Parliament for the funds they receive and publish their own accounts separately.
