This guide has been superseded by Home adaptations for disabled people: a detailed guide to related legislation, guidance and good practice, published by the Homes Adaptations Consortium in 2013.

Good practice guide for local authorities on delivering adaptations to the homes of disabled people.

This good practice guide, originally published in November 2004, has been amended to include a change in the law relating to childrens’ means testing which came into effect in December 2005.

The primary purpose of this document is to advise local authorities on how they can establish a first class service which can deliver adaptations to the homes of disabled people in order to meet their needs and statutory entitlements.
