The Defence Nuclear Environment and Safety Board assurance report has now been superseded by an annual report produced by the Defence Nuclear Safety Regulator (DNSR).
August 2012: Learning from Fukishima
DNSR led activity employing a similar process to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) including the use of stress tests based on those proposed by the European Nuclear Safety Regulatory Group. Defence Nuclear Programme duty holders, having conducted the work requested by the regulators, have concluded that it is safe to continue their current operations; both DNSR and ONR concur with this view.
