The DCMS Capability Review is part of a wider Civil Service reform programme instituted by Gus O’Donnell, Head of the Civil Service, ensuring departments are fit to respond to the challenges of the 21st century.

The DCMS review forms part of the third tranche of reviews, along with Ministry of Defence, Department for International Development, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
