This document sets out the standards data centres are encouraged to meet, with additional requirements for strategically important projects. These cover national security and resilience, energy-system costs, benefits for local communities, efficient use of water and energy, and support for UK jobs, supply chains and AI hardware. It also outlines government action to accelerate grid connections, planning and infrastructure delivery for qualifying strategic data centres.
