Overall Objective for the Qualification

Level 4 Award in Coaching and Mentoring

On successful completion of this qualification learners will have the skills and knowledge to effectively manage, in a limited capacity, coaching or mentoring within a functional area of an organisation.

Level 4 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

On successful completion of this qualification learners will have the skills and knowledge to effectively manage, in a broader capacity, coaching or mentoring both within and across organisation functions.

Level 4 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring

On successful completion of this qualification learners will have the skills and knowledge to effectively manage coaching or mentoring both within and across organisation functions and engage in the planning and delivery of a coaching or mentoring programme.

Pre-entry requirements

There are no pre-entry requirements. However, having a level 3 qualification, such as a DAO Level 3 Award or Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring, would provide a good foundation for any of these qualifications.

In addition, for all qualifications learners are expected to have sufficient knowledge and/or experience on which to develop new levels of expertise and skills. This knowledge and/or experience could come from formal and/or informal training.

Level 4 Award in Coaching and Mentoring

Learners must achieve a minimum of 4 credits.

Level 4 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

Learners must achieve a minimum of 13 credits.

Level 4 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring

Learners must achieve a minimum of 37 credits.
