D Hankins Farms has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the un-named drains within the Curf and Wimblington Combined Internal Drainage Board at Wimblington, Cambridgeshire via the following National Grid Reference reaches: TL 45500 89500 to TL 45850 89400, TL 44900 88500 to TL 45500 89510, TL 45450 88750 to TL 45860 88670 & TL 45850 89400 to TL 45450 88750.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 69 cubic metres an hour

  • 229 cubic metres a day

  • 18,200 cubic metres a year

  • between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for Spray Irrigation – direct.
