This document contains the following information: This document sets out a plan for the criminal justice system in 2008. It starts by looking at the changes that have been made since 1997 before describing the aim for the next five years.

This Command Paper was laid before Parliament by a Government Minister by Command of Her Majesty. Command Papers are considered by the Government to be of interest to Parliament but are not required to be presented by legislation.
