14. New frameworks and updates

*The Government Convergence Framework (GCF) is not a CCS procurement framework but a Vodafone technology platform sitting at the heart of the Public Service Network. 453 public bodies use it to send information digitally and securely. CCS is leading the project to migrate users from GCF to cutting edge, cost effective replacement services.

CCS is aiming to extend the Vodafone GCF service contract to ensure service continuity. The scope of the service is being reduced to an essential core so that the cost will be, at worse, no more than that for previous contracts. The 453 users will be billed quarterly in arrears starting in July. Over the next 12 months, CCS will procure the replacement services through a new framework. Customers will be contacted throughout the process to ensure their requirements are captured and to help with migration to the new service.

If they haven’t already done so, users will need to re-contract services originally contracted by them through GCF but that are not in the core GCF service list.

There are some GCF users yet to engage with CCS on their requirements from the Vodafone system and its replacements. These users now need to make contact with CCS at info@crowncommercial.gov.uk

*G-Cloud 11RM1557.11 framework has now launched. G-Cloud provides a transparent, competitive marketplace which allows Government customers to buy off the shelf, commodity-based cloud services.

*SPARK RM6094 has now launched. Spark enables public bodies to access the latest cutting-edge technology solutions including AI, Internet of Things and wearables.

*Public Sector Vehicle Hire Solutions RM6013 will award this month and encompass services in the UK and overseas for all vehicle types including but not limited to cars and light commercials, 4×4 wheels vehicles, minibuses, heavy goods vehicles and car share.

*We have an update on the timescales for the Supply of Energy RM6011 framework

We will update further on completion of the evaluation and award.
