This circular contains guidance for local planning authorities in England on dealing with planning applications by the Crown following the commencement of Part 7, Chapter 1 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, which ends the Crown’s immunity from the planning system by applying the Planning Acts to the Crown. The main features are guidance on applications with national security implications, urgent applications, enforcement and new permitted development rights for the Crown.
