The Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel for Northern Ireland (CICAPNI) is a tribunal non-departmental public body, funded by the Northern Ireland Office, with a membership drawn mainly from the legal and medical professions, as well as including lay members.

The role of the CICAPNI is to support the victims of violent crime by determining appeals against review decisions made by the Compensation Agency for criminal injuries compensation, in accordance with the Northern Ireland Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme established in May 2002.

This paper was laid before Parliament in response to a legislative requirement or as a Return to an Address and was ordered to be printed by the House of Commons.
