This publication was withdrawn on

CICAIR’s Approved Inspector regime ended on 1 October 2024. The Building Safety Regulator now oversees building control bodies and registered building inspectors.

Details

This document sets out how the panel conducts interviews about complaints against approved inspectors. The approved inspector must attend an interview if requested to do so.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the designated body to approve inspectors in England and Wales from 5 April 2024, replacing the Construction Industry Council Approved Inspectors Register (CICAIR). This designation ends on 1 October 2024.

All references in the documents to CICAIR should be read as HSE.
