Company ownership: transparency and trust survey and follow up research

Results and follow-up research of a survey of UK companies, measuring the impact of improving transparency of UK company ownership.

The survey report details the results of a survey of UK companies to measure the impact of policy proposals to improve transparency and trust in UK business.

The policy proposals were set out for views in the discussion paper Transparency and trust: enhancing the transparency of UK company ownership and increasing trust in UK business (July 2013).

Analysis of the data from the survey identified a number of outlying cost estimates. The follow-up research was designed to help understand the reasons behind the very high and very low estimates. It also examines the cost implications of developing proposals, following the original quantitative survey and the discussion paper.
