Details

A government social research report will be published on the findings of a process evaluation into Commissioned Rehabilitative Services (CRS).

CRS is a framework designed by the MOJ and HMPPS following the reunification of probation services in 2021. It involves specialised rehabilitative support for individuals under the supervision of the Probation Service.

The report concludes that while CRS has made substantial progress in supporting people on probation, there is still a need for refinement and adaptation to ensure that all pathways effectively meet the diverse needs of individual offenders.

It also makes 30 recommendations, including for face-to-face delivery to be prioritised in CRS delivery, accommodation contracts to be revised and for greater collaboration between probation and other justice partners.

All findings have been considered and inbuilt into our recommissioning to ensure improved services and impact.
