The CMA responded to the consultation on proposed changes to statutory consultees in the planning system in England, led by the MHCLG.
The CMA’s response sets out our findings on the role of statutory consultees in housebuilding markets, and welcomes the proposals to improve the functioning of the statutory consultee system and facilitate timely decision making. It also sets out the opportunity to ensure effective monitoring and enforcement of deadlines for statutory consultees as government builds on its proposals.
The response also notes our initial evidence on the impacts of statutory consultees in Civil Engineering markets.
