This correspondence concerns the renewal or upgrade of class B rail signalling systems and compliance with technical specifications.

Network Rail’s application, in accordance with the Railways (lnteroperability) Regulations 2011, asks for a decision about whether authorisation is required for its proposed work. The Department for Transport’s response, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Transport, confirms that authorisation is not required for this work.
