This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government
Progress update on the civil service reform plan.
On 19 June 2012, the Minister for the Cabinet Office and Head of the Civil Service jointly published the Civil Service Reform Plan, which set out a series of specific and practical actions to bring about an exceptional civil service delivering the best for Britain, that is more skilled, less bureaucratic and more unified.
To mark the anniversary of this publication, the Cabinet Office has published the Civil Service Reform: one year on report, which provides a candid assessment of progress on implementing the 18 actions in the original plan. To support this milestone, we have published a short summary of implementation progress within the Department for Education.
