Capita’s rectification plan has been received and we have agreed the appointment of Grant Thornton UK to act as the independent remediation advisor.

Outstanding quotations
As of 20 July, 9,463 retirement quotes needed to be issued. Of those, 7,194 are for members who requested a quote prior to 5 June and have a past retirement date of 30 June 2026 (or before). 2,269 requests have been received since 5 June.
2,936 cases are with employers to clarify data. 6,500 cases are within Capita’s control to deliver.

Complex cases
1,500 cases were previously identified as complex cases, 121 have been completed. Data for 591 cases has been received and now are workable. 490 require Capita action and approx 400 are being worked on by the surge team. Of these, 308 have been sent letters to contact the team handling these cases.
Bereavement cases
Capita has 4,750 bereavement cases to process of which 1,461 are over four months old. Capita is waiting for responses from 3,099 cases who need to return paperwork.
Death in service and Ill health retirement cases
Capita and the recovery team continue to track all older cases individually; as they require an element of hypercare.
