City Deal: Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire

The City Deal for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire is part of the second wave of City Deals to get the go-ahead from government.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire City Deal is built around a flagship proposal for the UK’s first at-scale, low carbon, heat network system. It will:

  • take advantage of the area’s natural resources
  • support Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire’s world famous advanced manufacturing and applied materials (eg ceramics) sectors,
  • support the emerging energy and renewables growth sector

The City Deal is worth £113 million and will support up to 23,000 jobs for local people over the next decade.
