Details

The Construction Industry Council Approved Inspectors Register (CICAIR) code of conduct sets out these standards approved inspectors should follow:

  • honesty
  • integrity
  • competency
  • accountability

Approved Inspectors should follow the guidance notes. They might have to explain cases where their behaviour did not follow the notes.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the designated body to approve inspectors in England and Wales from 5 April 2024, replacing CICAIR. This designation ends on 1 October 2024.

All references in the documents to CICAIR should be read as HSE.
