Change in bonus rates for Save As You Earn (SAYE) share option schemes

The latest changes to the bonus rates for Save As You Earn (SAYE) share option schemes.

  1. 18 December 2025

     The new Save As You Earn (SAYE) bonus rates and early leaver rates that apply from 2 January 2026 have been added.

  2. 8 August 2025

     The new Save As You Earn (SAYE) bonus rates and early leaver rates that apply from 8 August 2025 have been added.

  3. 9 May 2025

     The new Save As You Earn (SAYE) bonus rates and early leaver rates that will apply from 23 May 2025 have been added.

  4. 7 February 2025

     The new Save As You Earn (SAYE) early leaver rate that will apply from 21 February 2025 has been updated. This was previously shown as 100% in error.

  5. 6 February 2025

     The new Save As You Earn (SAYE) bonus rates and early leaver rates that will apply from 21 February 2025 have been added.

  6. 7 November 2024

     The new Save As You Earn (SAYE) bonus rates and early leaver rates that will apply from 22 November 2024 have been added.

  7. 5 August 2024

     The new SAYE bonus rates and early leaver rates that will apply from 16 August 2024 have been added.

     The new SAYE bonus rates and early leaver rates that will apply from 18 August have been added.

     Examples of Bank of England bank rates for Save As You Earn (SAYE) Share Option Scheme have been added. This is to prepare for when the new SAYE Mechanism comes into effect on 18 August 2023.

  10. 16 June 2022

      HMRC are undertaking a review to consider options to simplify the SAYE Bonus Rate Mechanism. The bonus and interest rates are being held at 0% with effect from 30 June 2022 while this review is being undertaken.

Both the 3-year and 5-year rates for Save As You Earn (SAYE) share option schemes will change on the 15th day following a change in the Bank of England Bank Rate, as set out in the SAYE bonus rates automatic mechanism.
